Mikio Watanabe Gallery of the Reader Collection of Japanese Flower-and-Bird Art

Mikio learned to make intaglio prints when he moved to France. More than thirty of these prints feature birds and twenty examples are shown below. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Mikio drew his bird subject’s shape accurately but often simplified its colors. Many of the pictures are very small so an enlargement of the picture portion of each print is provided below as well.
